About Us

St John the Evangelist Church in Langcliffe serves as a central place of worship for our parish community. We pride ourselves on cultivating a peaceful atmosphere that is welcoming to all, including tourists and walkers exploring the beauty of the Yorkshire Dales. Our mission is to share the love of Christ through community service, spiritual guidance, and community programs.

Come on in!

There's always a warm welcome at St John the Evangelist Church.

If you are new to the area, travelling through or want somewhere to rest up for a while do come in and enjoy refreshments, our daily book sale and the tranquillity of our church and grounds.

We are on the Geocaching and Adventure Lab apps, well located for those making their pilgrimage through The Dales.

What our visitors think...

'What a lovely welcoming church! Thank you for your hospitality from providing tea/coffee and toilet. So unusual and such a warm welcome.'

The Hub

'Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.'  Hebrews 13:2

The Church Hub is open daily. Whether you are a local resident, a visitor to the church or  are traveling through please help yourself to a warm drink or cool refreshment from the Hub. Toilet facilities are also available for use during the daytime.

We are in the process of developing the Hub to open up further kitchen facilities. Donations towards this project would be much appreciated and can be given in the church using cash or card or by contacting us for further details about how to donate.
