Sunday Services
We worship together every Sunday. Most of our services take place at St John the Evangelist Church with at least one shared service each month with our neighbouring parishes of St Peter's Stainforth and St Oswald's Horton in Ribblesdale.
The usual pattern of monthly services is as follows:
Week 1: Holy Communion at 10:30am
Week 2: Evensong at 6pm in the Summer and 3pm in the Winter
Week 3: Joint Service of Holy Communion at one of our three parish churches at 10:30am
Week 4: Service of Morning Prayer at 10:30am
Week 5 (when applicable): Joint Service of Holy Communion at one of our three parish churches at 10:30am
Our services follow the liturgy of The Book of Common Prayer, and include a combination of fellowship, scripture, prayer, music, reflection time and sacrament (during Holy Communion Services).
Each service provides the opportunity to explore, develop and sustain our relationship with God ad one another.
Services are led by our Vicar, The Rev'd Stephen Dawson and Lay Worship Leader, Kate Croll.

With You Throughout Life
'For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted...' Ecclesiastes 3: 1-2
Baptism and Confirmation
Christenings are a time of celebration and welcome. They are the beginning of a child's journey with Christ, supported by the adults around them. If as a young person, or an adult, an individual chooses to continue their Christian journey, Confirmation is the next step. For adults who have not been Christened, Adult Baptism is an option that is open to them. Please contact us for further details.
Marriage
Congratulations! If you are recently engaged or thinking about marriage we can support you and help you to prepare for the next chapter in your lives together as a couple. Marriage is a new beginning in your life journey together, demonstrating your life-long commitment to one another through the vows you make. Please contact us for further information if you would like to have your wedding ceremony at St John the Evangelist Church.
